Boosting Your Mileage
It's been some time since the last post and much has happened in that time span. The little Geo Storm got wrecked and even though it's back "on the road again" (thoughts of Willie Nelson) we're far from finished in the fix-up stages.
If you really want to see the before and after pictures, go HERE. Disassembly for repair revealed some rust and other damage that we're working on or have already fixed. It seems that there are specific places on MANY of the early Geo Storm's that seem to rust out really fast. More than any others... So, I'm "in the hunt" for some spare pieces to use in the repair process.
All that said, MILEAGE has not suffered in the least. Last week, on Tuesday, I ran through a full tank of gas and the math says that we got 36.62 miles per gallon. Not bad for a little car with 278,654 miles on it. And no, the motor has NEVER been opened and it runs like it's afraid "not to!" Even though I no longer am selling EnviroMax Plus, I still run some through the tank ever few tank fulls and it keeps things cleaned out and running well.
I've had several people tell me this car was not worth fixing after the accident but with almost 37 miles per gallon of both city and highway driving... who wants car payments for something that is likely to get LESS miles per gallon? My question... How much is a "pretty car" really worth? Especially when this one is Paid For!
I am also afraid that Insurance on a NEW car would cost me much more than what I'm paying for this cute little Geo Storm... and, I'd probably be afraid to drive a NEW car some of the places I go now in my Geo. Hmmmm.
As for ways to get MORE mileage from YOUR car, like I do... let me ask you this: What are YOU using for your OIL in the engine? Regular old oil or Synthetic? Did you know that if you used Synthetic that you can get better mileage? Customers of mine tell me that all the time! I put in that Amsoil and now I get much better mileage, they say... So, why don't YOU check it out?
Oh yes, How about that 25,000 mile Oil Change Interval? No, I did NOT make a mistake there... That number is correct. And, your warranty will not be in jeopardy. That's a fact, 25,000 miles or one year, what ever comes first. This deal does require that you use an Amsoil Oil Filter as part of the 25K mile oil change deal. The Price? You save money. Check it out HERE.
More again soon and I do mean soon. No more months between posts!
Dave
