Thanks for checking in again for more "Gas Saving Tips" from HotCatalyst.com

There are many things that we can all do to save the fuel that we've become used to wasting... just because we were told it would never run out. Ha! Ha! What a joke. And with the cost of fuel continually rising, we all must conserve, just to keep from going broke!

1. A way that all of us can contribute (if not always... at least from time-to-time) is to use some form of Mass Transit. I know that some of you live where there is NO mass transit available and you just have to do your own personal best to save as well as you can. The rest of us can occasionally (if not always) take the bus, the train, a plane or other group travel options to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads. We should all strive to do that at least one day a week!

2. Another way that we can conserve fuel, and that is gaining popularity here near the Nations Capitol, is to "tele-commute" at least one day a week. That keeps commuters off the roads, saves gas, reduces pollution and probably increases productivity as the workers who do this aren't all stressed when they step into their "home office" and begin working.

3. When you think seriously about how you live your daily life, how many times do you hop in the car or truck and buzz off somewhere close to home or your work? Now think about it... could you have walked or ridden a bicycle? Not only will you save gas but you will be getting valuable exercise. Just ask your doctor, the next time you see him or her, just how much better off you'd be if you did more walking and biking instead of driving everywhere you run off to.

4. If your vehicle is equipped with a cruise control, USE IT all you can! It is a proven fact that your vehicle's cruise control is much more efficient at keeping any vehicle at a constant speed and that in doing so, it will burn less fuel to travel the same distance compared to how things would have worked out if YOU had been controling the speed. No cruise control in your car or truck? Add on Cruise Controls are available from aftermarket manufacturers and your mechanic can either recommend one for you or install one that you provide. Cost? They average between $100 to $200 and then the installation, although simple, may be best accomplished by a certified mechanic. If you're keeping that vehicle for at least the next two or three years, you are more than likely to save the price of the Cruise Control and the installation in gasoline saved if you will use it regularly.

5. Another way that we can save on our own personal fuel costs it to seek out and find a way to car pool or van pool at least one day a week. For some who do not go to the same place for work each day, this would be out of scope. However, for those of us who always go to the same cubby each day of the week, there are possibilities for finding ways to team up and save on fuel, reduce the number of vehicles on the roads and as a result... there is less pollution and you can travel in an HOV lane where they are available. Just think about it. We all seem to like our privacy and rightly so... but at what cost to our children, our children's children and the rest of the world? Give a Hoot! Don't Pollute!

6. A couple of parting items come to mind here...

(a.) With the massive flooding that has happened in the coastal states of the United States, thousands of vehicles have received flood damage. If you are in the market for a new or used vehicle, make sure that YOU know where that vehicle came from! There have always been people who will try their best to get over on you and sell you cars and trucks that have been damaged. Many states have laws to protect you against things like this but YOU should be your own best agent! Demand to see where this vehicle came from (new or used) and check thoroughly to detect any flood damage. The mold and mildew can seriously damage the health of people with weak immune systems so... buyer beware.

(b.) To increase the mileage that you get from YOUR vehicle, the next time you fill up, how about adding an ounce or two of EnviroMax Plus? You can get up to 35% or more miles-per-gallon and reduce the pollution at the exhaust by up to 80%. Now who wouldn't want to do that? The cost? Roughly $0.12 per each 10 gallons of fuel that you put in the tank. If your vehicle requires Premium, you can lower to Mid-Grade and save at least
$0.12 per gallon (if not more) and you won't have knocking, pinging or rough running without the Premium fuel. (Unless, of course, you already had those symptoms with premium!) So check it out. Until next time, SAVE GAS!
