New Mileage Claims by Manufacturers are a Crock!
I was watching the Television this evening and saw a commerical by a major automotive manufacturer who's "New Claim to Fame" is that ALL the vehicles they manufacture now achieve at least 25 miles per gallon! Wow! Am I supposed to be impressed?
If memory serves me right, more than 30 years ago a gent down in Texas developed a carbeuretor (way before fuel injection was a commonly used product) that allowed him to travel along at a leisurely 200 mpg. Now THAT is something to CROW about.
But a measley 25 MPG is nothing but a bunch of bunk! [In my opinion.]
Gee... my 17 year old Geo gets close to 40 MPG on a REGULAR BASIS and with a few more tweaks, I hope to break 40 MPG!
Now why in the heck should I go spend close to $40K on a hunk of Detroit steel that only gets 25 MPG when I can tune on an existing car that's fun to drive, that is already paid for... and one that gets GREAT mileage already?
What kind of mileage do YOU get? Let's hear YOUR answers!
